Acquisition of domestic real estate by non-resident foreigners
Foreigners can buy real estate properties in Korea.
For foreigners staying for a long time, you can issue a certificate of an alien registration card or a certificate of residence, so you can register after purchasing real estate.
However, short-term foreigners or non-resident foreigners must obtain a registration number for foreign real estate registration through the immigration office to register their real estate.
For the first time, applications can only be made at the Seoul Immigration Office or the Seoul Immigration Sejong-ro branch office. Except for the first new issuance, if you have a history of past issuance, you can apply at all immigration offices.
The documents submitted when issuing the registration number for real estate registration are:
1. The original passport
2. A copy of the passport or a copy of the passport issuance record certificate
with consular confirmation
3. A Copy of passport with apostille or passport issuance record certificate
We can handle all the procedure for your acquisition of domestic real estate.
